The owners of this one‐of‐a‐kind 1923 English manor estate wanted to extend their outdoor living space. With the kitchen undergoing a major redesign, it was essential for us to design the patio simultaneously to ensure a seamless flow between the two spaces. In order to design the permanent structure our client desired, the new patio roof would need to coordinate well with the main roof. We were careful to incorporate details consistent with the character of the home including copper gutters and copper flashing where the new roof connects to the home. The gas fireplace was designed with brick to match the home’s exterior. It was designed and built with a low profile to avoid blocking the view of the backyard and pool area. The new stamped concrete provided the look of rustic stone pavers and coordinated well with the timber-framed structure.
