A Hollywood
Home Cinema
Project Type: Basement
Location: Bainbridge Township
Timeline: 10-12 Weeks
Investment: $50,000 to $60,000
This project involved converting an unfinished basement into a deluxe home theater. The new home theater features soundproof walls and ceilings constructed with special soundproofing materials. The drywall is also decoupled from the wood framing members with resilient metal channel, and soundproofing insulation is installed in the wall and ceiling cavities.
The theater room includes raised platform seating, a tray ceiling with rope lighting, faux columns with sconce lighting, in-wall speakers, a custom audio/video equipment enclosure, stair riser lighting, and a dry bar with under-cabinet lighting. All theater lighting was installed with remote-controllable dimmers, using the Lutron Caseta wireless system.
