A Modern
Transformation
Project Type: Kitchen/Whole House Remodel
Location: Solon
Timeline: 12 to 14 weeks
Investment: $100,000 – $125,000
This interior makeover in Solon began with our client’s desire to remodel their kitchen and laundry room and update several other areas throughout the first floor of their 1980s home. Their primary concern was the kitchen, which suffered from limited food prep and storage space. The lack of space was becoming a real problem for their growing family. Through thoughtful design and planning, we were able to create floor plan options that maximized the usefulness of the existing space. We were able to tackle their entire wish list, and more, while remaining within their budget.
The remodeled kitchen features a large island with seating for a family of four, expanded cabinet storage, more counter space and a mud room concept. The kitchen was opened up to the living room. A window was added right of the sink to invite more natural light and provide a better view of the backyard. The laundry room was redesigned with appliances in a stacked configuration to allow space for new cabinetry. The living room fireplace was updated with new wall paneling, mantel shelf, doors and finishes for the surround and hearth. New wainscot paneling was added in the dining room and laundry room. Flooring was replaced throughout the entire first floor and part of the second floor.
